LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

     By: Jonesborough Genealogical Society

     Dear Editor,

As you have heard, the LOST STATE OF FRANKLIN DRAMA ASSOCIATION at last has a site for the construction of an amphitheatre that will present historic drama based on the rich history of Northeast Tennessee. That site is located on the campus of Tusculum College, Tusculum, Tennessee.

We wish now to extend our appreciation to the many people who helped us with the three year process of investigating many possible sites. Without their help, we would still be looking. Among the many, we wish to especially salute Hunter Wright and Mary Steadman of Kingsport, P.C. Snapp, John Campbell, Steve Baldwin and Gary Mabrey of Johnson City, Kevin McKinney and Bob Browning, of Jonesborough.

This kind of regional support has brought the project this far and is even needed more to complete the development of this important project.

Northeast Tennessee can expect an annual economic impact of $11 to $19 million from this project. Ticket sales are only a small portion of this impact. The larger portion of the impact will come from money spent by tourists on lodging and related services. Every city in Northeast Tennessee will have this major tourist attraction to enhance their already aggressive marketing efforts.

The continued enthusiastic support of the Northeast Tennessee Community is needed and appreciated. Together we can be a part of the success of a project that will have a dramatic impact on tourism revenue while showcasing our exciting and rich historic heritage.

                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                    Reva Jo Robertson

                                                                                    President

Lost State of Franklin Drama Assoc., Inc.
